Nov 2004 – Present    Chief Draughtsman / Director            Anglo-Irish Engineering Ltd., Middlesbrough, UK

  • Planned and launched the Anglo-Irish Engineering enterprise to provide full drawing office service to Andrew Mannion Structural Engineers; negotiated an agreement with the CEO regarding price per project and operating expenses.
  • Undertook financial management; recorded personal and staff hours, recruited and trained people to assist with the work.
  • Successfully ran up to six concurrent projects that were in various stages of design and construction.
  • Projects included the Grand Canal hotel in Dublin that was featured in Construction News for its innovative design employing staggered columns.

 Jul 2000 – Nov 2004     Design Draughtsman          Andrew Mannion Structural Engineers, Co. Westmeath, Ireland

  • Gained the role with extra responsibility as Senior StruCAD Operator for the engineering firm.
  • Accomplished at producing 3D models plus fabrication and erection drawings with relevant reports and documents.
  • Utilised the StruCAD application for a range of commercial, residential and industrial buildings such as offices, hospitals, prisons and plazas.
  • Liaised fully with clients, engineers, architects and other people in regular meetings on site and in client offices to ensure smooth completion of projects.
  • Completed work for Croke Park GAA stadium in Dublin for new roof and trusses; finished on time, within cost, included amendments and additional needs, reported ongoing status to the Board.
